Business reception in the residence (11/09/2009)
A business reception for RSA Group and Direct Pojistovna took place in the Residence on 3 September. The event, organised by our UKTI team, was attended by over 80 guests who celebrated acquisition of Direct Pojistovna by the RSA Group’s Dutch subsidiary Intouch B.V. HMA Sian MacLeod, Mr Andrew Burke, Director of RSA, and Mr Jan Carny, Director of Direct Pojistovna delivered short speeches. This useful networking event was accompanied by a musical performance of the exceptional Beatles revival band Brouci.
Financial and professional services continue to be an important pillar of the UK economy. The sector accounts for around 11% of UK’s GDP. The UK insurance market is the largest in Europe and second largest in the world, with net worldwide premium income valued at nearly £263 bn. The sector is responsible for 25% of insurance business written in Europe."
