Help for British Nationals
Welcome to the Consular Section
On these pages you can find information on the assistance our Consular section staff can offer, and advice and information for British Nationals visiting or living in the Czech Republic to help you make your stay as enjoyable and trouble-free as possible.
We aim to issue copies of birth and death registrations in ten working days and other documentary services applications within two working days. When you submit your applications you will be told when you will be able to collect your papers. You may have to return in person if you are required to sign an affidavit.

Visiting Consular & Visa Section
Entrance to the Consulate is limited to strictly one person per application or group application for both visa and consular/passport services. Other family members and friends are not permitted entry unless there are compelling or compassionate reasons or when there is a need for an interpreter for a third language (the applicant does not speak English or Czech). Children under 14 years old are allowed admittance with a responsible adult e.g. parent or guardian. For visa applicants, if the child is under 18 years old, travels alone and the parent or legal guardian does not provide written consent to the application, the application will be refused.
