R&D structural fund workshop

A workshop to help explore business opportunities associated with R&D structural funds in the Czech Republic and Poland

 

Scottish Development International, in partnership with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and UK Trade & Investment, was pleased to host a workshop to explore business opportunities associated with R&D Structural Funds in the Czech Republic and Poland.

The workshop took place on 9 September 2008 at the Head Office of Scottish Enterprise in Glasgow and was led by Mr Otakar Fojt, Science & Innovation Officer at the British Embassy in Prague and speakers included:

Mrs Vera Jourova      - EU Structural Funds Advisor
Ms Aneta Wilmanska - Polish Agency for Enterprise Development
Mr Martin Wassell     - Managing Director of Pera International
Mr Nick Stuart          - Science & Technology Team, UK Trade & Investment
Ms Magda Gajownik  - Science & Innovation Officer, British Embassy Prague

Attendees at the workshop

  • Got an overview of the Science and Innovation (S&I) sectors in Poland and the Czech Republic
  • Learned about structural funds available for S & I in these countries
  • Found out how they can access these funds
  • Had the opportunity to conduct one-to-one meetings with sector experts

 

Better innovation - better business: a UK-Czech partnership

The UK Innovation Partnerships Conference was held on 10 March 2008 in Radisson SAS Alcron Hotel, Prague. The conference was organised by a partnership of UK business, the British Embassy in Prague, UK Trade & Investment and UK Science & Innovation Network in co-operation with the Czech Republic Ministry of Industry and Trade.

A top UK delegation joined 100 representatives from business, universities, research and development and government in the Czech Republic. It was an opportunity to showcase British innovation in the Czech Republic and strengthen the mutual co-operation of the two countries.
